You know how sometimes you want to eat more healthy or to try new things? So you look up recipes or spend money on an interesting cookbook? Then you try one or two recipes, and they're great but they just take so much time or hassle that you end up not making them again and slip back into your old trends?
Especially when we're in the process of renovating the way we eat, we need to build a repertoire of foods that are super easy to prepare. Satisfying foods that you can turn to when you're short on time or you have a lot on your mind but you need to put together a nourishing meal.
I'm starting a blog series called Steph's Staples that will feature those kinds of foods. But watch out, some of them might be too surprisingly simple! ;) But that's not a problem, is it, as long as they're delicious? I'll include some stuff about the ways they nourish us and promote health. I don't know about you, but knowing that kind of stuff makes me enjoy my food all the more! And many of us need to know what foods to focus in on including in our diets based on our personal health challenges and goals.
Do you have your own healthy staples, even ones that you only make them once in a while when you remember them? You might start writing down a list of these kind of staples so you can be more mindful of the easy options you have when you are meal planning or just throwing a meal together. You might want to put together a binder of simple printed recipes or a box of quickly handwritten 3 by 5 recipe cards.
Get ready to start expanding your own repertoire of building blocks for nourishing meals! Be the first to see my new blog post by joining my email group! (Look for the "Let's Chat" box at the bottom right corner on this website). I'd love to have you along for the journey!
